​​Haus Kirch Headquarters​

​​The house was used by the US 99th Infantry Division as the headquarters for their commander, Major General Walter E. Lauer. 

​General Eisenhower visited the headquarters during the winter of 1944 to 45 and stayed at the house for several days. This was captured by Army photographer units who accompanied him. 

​Today, outside the front of the house is a commemorative plaque which features General Eisenhower. It makes note of his presence and stay here during the Second World War.
